She is would be fine to put a small pillow in with your child. Start her out on the pillow. She is at the age where sometimes she will keep her head on it and other times be off it. It is ok.

Giving her a pillow now is perfectly fine ~ just don't be dissapointed if she doesn't use it a whole lot!
I remember giving my daughter one at the age of 2 and she'd lay on it and fall asleep, but in the morning it was on the floor.
I do suggest that you get a kid sized (travel) pillow, or a very flat one. If it is too fluffy or hard, her poor little neck will be at an odd angle for sleeping.
Congratulations on this milestone!

I gave my kids pillows at a year old. i gave them one of my older pillows so it was already flat and put a pillow sham on it instead of a regular pillow case (that way she didn't get caught up in it). it worked fine and that was what her doctor had told me to do.

thats about the age when my parents put a pillow on my bed but i can't stand them now, i'll actually sleep on a floor before i'd use a pillow. might be related but i doubt it.

2 years should be fine, just get a thin pillow for the transition.
