I found a great way to lose weight fast and keep it off. I do body cleansing. I lost 13 pounds in 9 days and then 28 pounds in less than a month. Cleansing will help the body get rid of impurities. Impurites come from a lot of things like fast food, pollution, food additives and preservatives etc. The impurities get stored in the fat in our body. To shrink the fat, we have to get rid of the impurities by cleansing. This made sense to me and I decided to try a cleanse program and it worked. The weight came off fast and this kept me motivated to keep going, not like other diets where the weight loss it too slow. http://losebigweight.com Would he be motivated by money? There is a contest right now where the biggest loser can win $10,000! Contest is now till June 30, 2007. check out http://isabody.tripod.com Maybe that would motivate him, the more you need to lose the bigger chance he would have to win the contest! That would be cool!

That kind of change has to come from within. If he's not really committed to this, it won't happen.

It can be done, though. A friend weighed about 400 lbs. He had bariactric surgery, and is now just over 200. He will have further surgery at some point to remove the extra skin, and that will bring him under 200, he thinks. Check your insurance - he may qualify for this. It's not an easy program, and it will mean drastic changes in his lifestyle. But any good bariactric surgery program will have lots of information about this.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

I lost 105 pounds in 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Or water.

It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.

Also start counting your calories. Write them down. You would be amazed as to how much more aware you are of your caloric intake, if you actually write it down. We recently discovered a site that offers a great program that counts calories, as well as keeps track of everything. It allows multiple users, so everyone in the family can keep track. They offer a free 7 day trial, and so far I am very impressed with the product. Try the 7 days and see. It allows you to add the exercise that you do during the day, which increases the amount of calories you can take in. Very Cool!!

Stay motivated, and get up and walk every day. I seriously lost all my weight starting off my day on my walk.

Good LUCK!

I would say you should lead by example..... Go outside and take a walk and make him come with you. Make it a family event. Get him outside to play physical games with your child. Don't bring junk foods into the house, it will make it harder for him to get a hold of them. Cook healthy meals of lean meats and vegetables. Put the leftovers away so that he will be less likely to get seconds and thirds. Most of all be encouraging not critical of him. You can even try taking him to your primary care physician and they will recommend some alternatives for him. Possibly medications if he does not have hypertension or diabetes. Reinforce the importance of what kind of influence he has on your 9 year old. The odds of your child picking up his bad eating habits are very high, not to mention that his odds of him not being around due to health risks! Good luck!

Motivate him by telling him the dangers of not losing weight and that you love him and that you don't want to lose him when he could have made a healthy by losing weight. Just be real with him and do simple things to make him healthier like a morning walk around the block or cooking him a healthy dinner.

If he is that heavy, he might need some kind of intervention. Someone that obese is going to need special care from an expert...he's going to need a carefully monitored diet, and he's going to need a specialized and modified exercise plan so that he doesn't hurt himself in the beginning. To motivate him to seek this help, remind him of the habits he is teaching your child, and remind him of everything he could miss in his child's life if he continues this way. Encourage him...tell him that people care about him and it hurts to see him like that. The best of luck!

Let him know you'll support him however he wishes to deal with it.

At 500 lbs, he should be considering surgery. It costs a lot of money, so let him know you'd support his decision to spend it. Could save his life.

Forget guilting him into change!

Well...Considering that he is your ex husband all I would recommend is that you sit down and try to talk to him. Mention how hard it would be on your daughter if she lost him and what kind of an example he is setting for her. Then if he is interested in what you are saying tell him about several of the different diet/nutrition or sugery programs that are available to him.

You cannot motivate him, only he can motivate himself. Just make certain your child eats properly and doesn't chunk out
