What if....?

I like this guy.
We are best friends. Really.
But when I talk to him about
having a relationship; he gets speechless.

I mean, he says he loves being friends; but he talks to me
with respect; and makes me happy when I am down.

Does he really like me and is just trying to hide it?

If he's your age (early teens), then he's probably just nervous. Relationships require maturity. Without that, it's really just fooling around. My advice is to nurture your friendship with him, keep talking with him openly and honestly, and someday -- when you're both ready -- it may happen. But if it doesn't, don't feel like you wasted any time, because good friends are a treasure. :-)
