Use a lawyer or "legal" person (Notary) of the ability to ensure that all permissions of viewing are recorded properly - Legally as to ensure that it cannot be reproduced by anyone whom you let see it.

Get a copyright! Mail the work to yourself or a friend with a return receipt requested....and DON"T OPEN IT! That'll suffice that as of that date, it was YOUR work....until you get a proper copyright.
