I had an expensive wedding , and am now a video guy for them (downsouthvideo.com) , and I would suggest save your money , the food and alcahol will be the biggest $$$ , and are most important , the rest plan out , dont spend to much , the $$$ after the wedding are what makes your wedding special , and the people you invite is the thing which determines the special day , not how much you spend! barter the best prices , and feel good about making a smick day , and being able to have a lovely looking day , on while saving money , and having an equal outcome - think photo's and video , they are the documentation and memorabelia for the amount of $$$ you spent , if you dont have either , have a bbq on paper plates , with all your best freinds , and enjoy they day regardless

If money was no object and I could hire a wedding planner and a decorator (they are not the same thing) I would definitely have a big elaborate wedding. I like the feel of a small wedding and I like the "no fuss" of it since I can't afford a wedding planner and thus am planning it myself - but as you said, I think most girls dream of the Cinderella wedding. Go for it!

I never dreamed of a big, elaborate wedding. My dream was a small, intimate wedding surrounded by those who really love me and my husband and who genuinely want to celebrate our marriage.

However, it is so easy to fall in love with the "bigger" things, like fancy dresses and small details. Once I got into the planning, I realized that the list of people who genuinely care was bigger than I'd first thought. And, I learned that the wedding isn't just about me and what I want, and their feelings do need to be considered. It isn't just the joining of a couple, it's the joining of families! In the end, we ended up with a medium to large sized wedding (about 160 people).

My husband and I just wanted a small private wedding with just family. I have never wanted a huge wedding. I think they are a waste of money. He didn't want a big wedding because he said it was an intimate moment that he only wanted to share with his family. So we had the private wedding and a friends and family reception later.

I had a small wedding in a beautiful and tiny old chapel with the stone and the stain glass windows, we had around 40-45 guests at the wedding itself. and then had a huge reception. (300-350).
I like it ten times better than some of my friends mega weddings it was a lot more personal and we knew every one there.
I have never regretted this and it has been five years.

I have no choice but to have a large wedding because my family is so huge. I have 2 aunts and 3 uncles on my mother's side and 3 aunts and 1 unlcle on my father's side and that's not including their spouses or their kids (my cousins)! Not to mention great aunts and uncles! And if were to marry my now-boyfriend, he also has a large family so we'd be looking at a pretty big wedding. Not only family, but mutal friends and friends-of-the-family too! I'd also have to invite some people from my current and previous job, and he may want to invite people from his job so.... I'm looking at well over 300 guests at my wedding! Wow...

I would want a large wedding. Something that is huge and memorable for all. Having it in a castle would be perfect with a flower garden in the back for pictures. Having 12 bridesmaids and 12 grooms men, two flower girls and a ring boy. Family and Friends from all over.

Its great to have a big wedding , if you want . But its not about how big it is ,unless your thinking gifts . Just think how much more you could save not being so big .
It doesn 't take a big wedding to share the love you have for each other .
Most guys I really dont think care how big or small it is !!!!!!!!!!!
Sometimes a Dream can become a nighmare !!!!!!!!!!!!

Big wedding- everyone else gets a big wedding....why not me? My wedding is next June and the guest list is bigger than I thought it would be (325) so now the question is finding the money to pay for it!
