Firstly you shouldn't have to change in front of the dr, you usually change behind a curtain and make yourself comfy on the bed. The dr usually gives you a sheet to cover yourself, then when your ready they ask you to draw your knees towards your chest and then let them flop to the sides. It may be embarassing and feel a bit undignified but the drs are used to doing it so won't be embarassed. Just try and relax and you should be fine. The dr or nurse should talk through with you everything they are doing, and remember if you have any questions just ask! It doesn't take very long, only a couple of minutes really and shouldn't be painful maybe just a bit uncomfortable. Remember if your feeling apprehensive you can tense up and make the experience more painful and embarrassing, so try to relax and if you have any concerns then discuss them with the dr/nurse! Good Luck!!

you're in no way too youthful to have a smear try, everyone who's sexually lively could desire to have a try each and every 2 years, in spite of the actuality that at your age you won't qualify for any loose programmes. As for being painful, your persons are having a shaggy dog tale with you ~ the two that or they're being princesses approximately something very organic and situation loose in rather much all circumstances. The try takes all of roughly 2 minutes, and maximum of it extremely is preparation. For the try, the healthcare expert in simple terms expands the vaginal beginning up with a speculum and then inserts an prolonged, skinny 'spatula' (which looks in simple terms like a plastic tube with little bristles at one end), and brushes it over the cervix. This collects cells that are sent for diagnosis. there's a delicate stinging sensation because of fact the device touches the cervix, for some million/2 a 2d, besides the undeniable fact that it ought to infrequently be stated as 'painful', at maximum quickly uncomfortable. the main uncomfortable element must be the insertion of the speculum, if the healthcare expert isn't considerate. yet maximum docs will heat the speculum and use lubricant, so the insertion is very painless. circumstances of cervical maximum cancers in women persons below 25 are somewhat uncommon, yet once you decide directly to start perfect in being sexually healthful at your age ~ decide for it! sturdy success and terrific needs :-)

Wear a skirt when you go for your smear test, this will make things alot easier for you.
You will be taken to a private room and asked to remove your knickers and lie on the couch. The Dr or nurse will then chat to you to help you relax. A plastic speculum will then be inserted into your vagina and the opening will be made wider. An inspection is then carried out using a torch for any obvious signs of infection etc and a swab is taken from your cervix (uterus opening). The speculum is then closed and taken out and it's all over. You should get the results in a short time.

well just dont think about what you are going to do. just go there, and the nurse / doctor will tell you exactly what you need to do
you just have to take your clothes off (waist downwards) and the nurse will talk to you, ask you if you are ok and insert an swab to take sample of cells from your cervix. it may hurt if you are being too tense. just relax, observe the paint next to you - or look at the intriguing poster of the respiratory system - it will be over before you know it, i felt a bit sore for a few hours but then when the results come out and they say everything is fine, it will be worth it.
its best you get it done so you are sure you dont have cervical cancer or any abnormalities...
good luck !

Spread your legs grin and bare it and be grateful if the results come back ok. Better 2 tics out of a day than the other. I mean cancer hun, been there never bought the T shirt tho.

You only have to take off your trousers and knickers honey. Yes it's embarrassing and not the most pleasant thing to have done but its worth it and could save your life one day. The doc does it all the time they think nothing of it. Try your best to keep calm and relaxed it's over within minutes anyway. Try to shut your eyes too, helps to be less embarrassing.

a smear test is degrading but it only gets done every three years i got a letter this morning to go for one thinking of dogging it myself, it checks for cervical cancers and also can detect sexually trasmitted diseases it only takes a few minutes but they put a beak thing up there to hold it open and then they put a swab up and scrap a small bit of tissue from the womb and send it off to get tested you migt have a little show of blood after but it goes away, you just need to swallow your pride and go for it after all they can save your life.

Don't be embarrassed its over in 5 min's and you go behind a curtain you don't totally undress only your bottom half and she will give you a blanket to put over your lap and then she'll take a swab and that's it, so don't be scared :)
