So today is my birthday and it does not look good for my diet. My mom is taking me out this morning for breakfast and then my grandparents are taking me out to dinner tonight and there will be cake after that. Basically it means I'm going to be eating a lot. Is this alright to do for one day? I don't want to gain like five pounds in one day but I also kind of want to take a break and enjoy myself. So is it okay to splurge on food for a day? What can I do to make up for it tommorow?

It is alright and even beneficial to splurge every once in a while. It kind of shocks your body. Just be sensible in what you choose for breakfast and dinner today and get a taste for the cake, do not eat the whole thing!

I have always found that if you follow a strict diet and then throw in an off day, it works better to break up the routine your body falls into.

Happy birthday and enjoy your splurging!!!

you can have fun and be sensible too. You can have breakfast and there are things you can do to avoid extra calories if you do not want to risk your diet too much. Getting your eggs poached opposed to fried. Asking for an egg white omelet only.Asking for the toast not to be butter and using peanut butter or jam instead. Fresh sliced tomatoes instead of bacon or sausage. You get the idea.
On the other hand we work hard at the things we want but we also need to know when to live a little. If you indulge it is one day no biggie. Just get right back in gear tomorrow. No need to make up. You can not punish yourself for enjoying yourself. See it more as rewarding yourself and then getting back to the plan. That way you can have special days from time to time that make all the hard work worth it!

Happy birthday!

You need to treat yourself every now and then, so enjoy your birthday. Just keep a little sense... don't eat 5 or 6 pieces of cake!

Tomorrow, don't give yourself a guilt trip about what you ate today. Just say, "okay, new day, and back to my diet." Then, workout just a little longer or a little harder than normal, and eat sensibly.

Enjoy your birthday!!!

don't over eat, just order an apptizer at one of the meal, and dont' eat the whole meal at all the places, you eat them all it's like 5000+ calories, don't do it.
