I know this sounds crazy but it is 100% true. I was in Bakersfield CA about a year ago. I stayed in a suite with a bed and a seperate room with a couch. As I was taking a short nap on the sofa, I woke up. After a few minutes of being awake, I got up and felt a slight stinging on my foot, right below my ankle on the outside of my foot. I looked down and there was this very flat reddish bug. As I gave a closer look, I noticed that it was actually eating through my skin and digging/eating down into my foot. This bug was not very large, probably 1/4" long and a few centimeters wide. It had several legs on each side. Anyways, I freaked out. My husband came running and tried to get it out. He pulled half of it out of my skin but the head stayed in, he finally smashed it and got it out. The problem is, I am terrified now. I always think something is crawling on me, and I am constantly checking for something trying to eat me. If anyone has ANY info on this insect please tell. I can't sleep

Sounds like a tick to me, too. Next time, smear some vaseline on it. As it begins to suffocate, it backs out, allowing you to remove it without leaving the head in your skin. Don't worry, I can't think of any cases where people have died or become crippled from a tick bite. They only take about four drops of blood... you should have plenty left.

I live in Bakersfield, and have for the last 40 years or so...never had a bug like that try to eat me. I'd wager you had a run in with a fairly common little pest-the tick. The description of its head remaining in the wound it created gives support to this theory. They are more common in areas with heavy vegetation and are usually brought indoors by pets.
Chill out about the creepy-crawly sensations. Even if the bug remains unidentified, it wasn't otherworldly or bent on your destruction. It was just your path crossed with that of another of God's creatures. You (at least) survived. The bug gave his all just doing what came naturally to fulfill its life-cycle.
Sorry it happened in Bakersfield, though.

Please consider that only in Bakersfield, California, such man-eating red bugs exist and since you are not in Bakersfield, don't lose sleep over it. I am not trying to make fun of your problem, I had a similar problem with ants crawling up my nose. As a child, I collected ants that I used to take to school. One day for some reason, I inhaled hard not realizing that I was holding a few ants and accidentally I dragged a few ants into my nostrils...all hell broke loose! For a long time, I felt ants crawl up my nose and I constantly blew my nose.

it sounds like it might have been a tick because ticks bury their head into the skin and suck your blood. the only thing i can suggest is when you go into the woods or a grassy area is to wear insect repellent, and white socks that go at least up to the knee. the good thing about a tick is that when they are full they just drop off the body. the bad thing is that they could carry lyme disease. go get that checked out.

Sounds like a tick, you should see a doctor, soon, to get yourself tested for some of the diseases they carry, like Lyme disease, just to be on the safe side, and you may well benefit from counselling, too, so mention that as well.

specific; canines, cats, any predator will consume a trojan horse, inclusive of human beings. Beetles, worms, grubs, grasshoppers, and so on. are often eaten in Asia, South united states of america, Africa... that is in basic terms in Western lifestyle that we've developed an aversion. they seem to be a competent source of proteins and different food.
