YES! My mom was around when I was growing up, but not much. She was heavy into drugs and my dad did the majority of my upbringing. Then, from the time I was 13 on, he had sole custody of me.

In fact, I often give my dad a mother's day present too because he had to be both to me. I think I turned out great. He stressed the importance of going to college and when I graduated I think I made him the happiest man alive! I love my dad with all my heart for all that he's done for me. There is nothing weird or strange about a dad raising his kids and there is such a thing as a "dead-beat-mom".

I grew up with my dad. My sister grew up with my mom. We are now totally different people. I was raised to be a stong independent woman. She was raised to do what you can to get by. She now mooches off of my mom and works here and there and has no goals in life. I go to school full time, work full time and am a full time mom. Bills paid, nice place, nice car. I have goals that I want to acheive.

Absolutely, it affected my life. My mother died when I was four. A lot of people were saying that if my mother were alive today, I would most probably be a spoiled brat. That was how much she loved me. My father was a bit strict.

Your dad forget his humane desire and accept to live with his lovely daughter. He is a good man , your duty should be to respect him and love him very much.
