Suppose delivery of construction plant is imminent by a sub-contractor on site for a job but the site is not ready due to delays in ground work. What steps could be taken to address this problem??

Here's a few options:

1. Postpone the delivery.
2. Approve overtime to get the site prepared.
3. Store the delivery until the site is ready.
4. Replace the subcontractor responsible for site preparation with a more competent contractor.

The sub contractor has taken out a contract with the plant hire firm to deliver the machine on site on a particular day....If the site is not ready for the machine Its the sub contractors fault....He still has to pay for the machine at the going rate plus grease time and travelling time...The operator can sit around all day long doing nothing If he wishes,as long as he Is there If needed to operate the machine......

well if its say a jcb digger you could always take it for a joy ride down your local motorway or alternatively forget the whole thing and go for a slap up binge down mrs miggins pie shop i thank you
