lol isn't it funy how the "reverand red mage" has to put a "in other words" in order to make the point .... mainly because it's taken out of context. That is just SOOOO like the devil too, he can't state the truth completely :)

To answer your question, the verse there is a time to live and a time to die was written by Solomon, later made into a song by the Beatles. There's a time to reap and a time to sow, a time for this and then a time for that lol. He isn't speaking of predestination in these verses, he's just saying there's a season for everything under the sun. When you are young, it's a time to grow, when you are very old, it's a time to die.

Actually predestination is mentioned in the Bible at Romans 8:29-30 and Ephesians 1:5 talks about predestination in the sense that mankind is predestined to populate the planet.

I think the quote in Romans refers to mankind being predestined to the image of God and is not a reference to lack of free will.

Re Red below, God will save whom God will save is talking about His sovereignty. Get a grip.

While I believe there is such a thing as predestination, I don't think that phrase is referring to it. I think it just means what it says. In the sense there is a time to rejoice, a time to grieve, etc. Life can't be all one thing.

Do we each live and die?. Since God know everything then he know already and it is predestination.. On the other hand looking from mans point of view we don't know Sometimes it's hard to accept what God knows and what we have yet to learn.

Not particularly; if you want to know what the deal is with predestination, be careful because there are some extreme idiots who have taken the whole idea and blew it up into its own "religion".
A prophet such as Jeremiah (which means "whom Yah raises up") was told by God that before he was even formed in the belly of his mother, he was sanctified (judged and found innocent) and ordained as a Prophet unto the Nations. To understand this, you need to realize what is actually written in the original manuscripts concerning free will; Not everyone has free will, and this is why:
Before Adam/Eve ever came on the scene, we were in the first earth age (this earth is eons old according to Scripture) and basically we were all very happy; then satan decided he wanted to govern the earth, and instead of guarding the throne reserved for Christ, he wanted to fill that position; satan started a great war, and took to his side a third of our people; then there was a great number of people who stayed neutral - they didn't really care, as long as it didn't affect them (whats new, huh?) and then there was another group -
this group stood fast on the side of God, never faltered, never waivered. When satan was defeated, this loyal group stood before God, and were judged right then and there, and God named them "His Elect". They are not loved more by God, but they certainly earned what they got. God could have just killed those who followed satan, but what does it take to kill one of your own? That you love? So, instead, God destroyed that earth age, and brought in this one at a later time. When you read in Genesis of the "creation", its not the first creation of the earth, it is a refurbishing of the earth to make it habitable for this flesh age coming in. Those born are given free will to make an ultimate choice of who they wish to follow, but the Elect who are here do not need free will - they already chose who they were going to follow, so God can direct their lives and use them to fulfill his plan as needed.
This does not mean that God knows what every person is going to do who has free will.
He doesn't - they really have free will. Those of the Election, God can manipulate as he needs to, because judgement has already come and gone for them, and eternal life is already given them.
What God does know is each of us, personally.
He knows how we stood during that previous struggle, and just like you might know what your mom may do given a certain situation, because you know her so well, its the same with God - he knows us, and so does satan -
even if we don't remember what we did in the war. This is why you might notice that when someone gives their life to Gods service, very often all kinds of negative things happen - thats because although we don't know how what our status is, satan sure does, and he will attack the elect constantly to keep them from fulfilling their destiny here, if it is allowed. Luke 10 gives us the power over spiritual enemies in the name of Jesus Christ, and if that is not claimed and used, satan will stomp all over you, non-stop.

Anyway, this info is direct from the original manuscripts of the Holy Bible, but you can see where there will be some who will take this information and blow it way out of proportion, and make it what it is not, a "religion".

The Bible is chock-full of information regarding what we did BEFORE we ever got here.

This phrase from the old testament could not suggest personal predestination, as Judaism always rejected the idea of fixed destiny, stating that each person is responsible by his actions to his destiny, and has the free will to select and decide his destiny.

No, because the Bible does not teach predestination. To believe that it does is a misinterpretation of Scripture.

I think you have a valid point. Our human "times" are in God's hands, but I think this verse involves more of a dependence upon God rather than predestination itself. But it's definitely related.

No. The Bible never says anything about predestination. Sorry.

in the words of the all knowing Iron Maiden -

Feel the sweat break on my brow
Is it me or is it shadows that are
Dancing on the walls.
Is this a dream or is it now
Is this a vision or normality I see
Before my eyes.

I wonder why, I wonder how
That it seems the powers getting stronger
Every day
I feel a strength an inner fire
But I'm scared I won't be able to control it anymore

There's a time to live and a time to die
When it's time to meet the maker
There's a time to live but isn't it strange
That as soon as you're born you're dying.

Just by looking through your eyes
He could see the future penetrating right
In through you mind
See the truth and see your lies
But for all his power couldn't foresee his own demise

There's a time to live and a time to die
When it's time to meet the maker
There's a time to live but isn't it strange
That as soon as you're born you're dying...
...and be reborn again?

All Hail
