Equal quantitiy of fruit & sugar. If it is a fruit with no pectin e.g. strawberry you need to add this too - it comes included if you buy jam sugar. Cook it in a big pot until it reaches setting point.
Any fruit can be made into jam.

Easty Strawberry Jam

Ingredients
3 lbs. fresh strawberries
3 lbs. granulate sugar

Method
Place the strawberries and the sugar in a large, stainless steel kettle. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Shake the pan to blend the ingredients, reduce the heat so the mixture simmers merrily, and continue cooking until the jam jells medium-firm, shaking the pan occasionally, about 40 minutes. Remove from the heat and sterilize according to jar manufacturer's instructions.

Cook's Note: You may add 1/4 cup of lemon juice to this jam, right at the end, to give it a tart edge that sets off the flavor and sweetness of the strawberries.

I agree with FC on this, but also, if you are using strawberries, then add the juice of a lemon to add more pectin to allow the jam to set.
