In the sense of "can I walk into a shady part of town late at night, and score some religion?" - No. In the sense of "is religion something that helps some people get through the day, some people find solace, and other people somewhere to escape to?" - Yes.
Depends on how you define "drug".

Well it's supposed to be "medicine" for the human condition, but because it is frequently misused and abused, atheistic people think that it doesn't have any benefits and should be outlawed.
Most religious people consider that the human condition is so bad that we need the "medicine" of religion. I decided to get the true cure, a relationship with Jesus, the Son of God.

most religions practiced now-a-days require their followers to believe more than think. This cancels the mind as an essential factor in taking decisions. In this sense, i think the way religions are practiced today is indeed drug-like.

Na! what is make you think it is. actually the religion is not kind of drug, you can see some religions they crazy and too very religious person, and too much stress of the rules of their religions. i am a religious person but i am not too stress, and i make myself normal, i still can get on with the other religions.

You are ignorant as you are to be. You do not even know how to differentiate a religion from drug. is that stupidity or sign of your very low average thinking or baby just born 2 minutes ago.

The short answer is no. The long answer is still no, but I'll try to explain.
Religion is what you base your beliefs on. For example, Christianity is my religion. I believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and I know that He died for ME and YOU!!!

It could be described as a 'drug', but calling it a drug would be wrong as it isn't a tangible thing.
I see what you mean in that it can cause people's minds to behave in certain ways, which are different to how they would behave without it...
Maybe calling it a form of hypnosis, rather than a drug, would be more accurate.

No. It is a kinda rationalization. Only, the farther it gets from science, the more irrational it becomes. Nobody said rationalization has to be rational, though.

I think for some people it can be used as a method of diverting themselves from their own issues. As other people would with drugs, alcohol, etc.
