what are the steps to talking with a girlfriend on the phone? for example, start by asking her how she is,etc?

U r so sweet for asking this.
Ofcourse, be spontaneous...but be careful not to offend her. Definitely ask her how she is, and everything is. Then focus on specific things (like, a job, an assignment, project, family, or any specific issue she is facing currently etc) is going in her life......and to always let u know if she needs help with anything.
Be natural....not rehearsed. If you truly care....all this will come naturally.
And another way you show respect and togetherness is by updating her on your life. Be open about what's going in ur life..... she will love that. Women feel frustrated when guys keep things to themselves and when they hv to work hard to know anything...

PS: And I forgot to add.....
don't talk too much. When she speaks, really listen. Don't cut her off. Keep an equal balance of words.... not too little, not too much... & silence is perfectly natural.

When she says hello, say hey its me, _________. Then ask her how she is, if she's done with everything she has 2 do. Then let her talk abit, then u can make funny/stupid comments on the topics that she talked about. Then just go on in that fashion. She should be laughing the whole time.

I duno wot chur gurl iz lyk but ma ex was a fob "kiwi" and cud sing real good so if u any good wif the voice try that lol , um try telling her about how u feel , ask her how shes going , get involved with her and <3 her .

you can talk about absolutely anything on the phone. if you've known her for long, i'm sure communication isn't a problem. if the relationship is new, just start casual -- and just go with the flow. also, anything you say can make her laugh. just be yourself and talk to her as if she was your best friend. have fun talking=)
