well...I had my first boyfriend at 12....but it was different than having a boyfriend at 15, or 18.....it's fine for a 12-15 yr old to have a boyfriend so long as they are supervised and talked to have not having sex.

Usually before the age of 15 young teens are not even interested in the opposite gender, so I say when the interest starts, around 15..they shouldn't be forbidden but monitored, dating provides a lot of good experience for more serious relationships later to come..BUUT the parents have to talk to them regularly way before this about sex, STD's and all that other icky stuff.

As a mom of a daughter I would say 18....
However I started dating when I was 14 almost 15. I was allowed to go out with friends including guys as long as it was in a group setting. I think I will have the same rules as that with my kids- There is a lot of pressure in a one on one date and not something I think someone who is just getting started in adolescence can handle easily.

As soon as possible!
seriously i think parents need to give their children some guided freedom from about 16 onwards, or when you feel you are mature enough. But make sure you always go out in a group and watch each others backs.

I guess it could depend on your maturity level.
Some teens at 15 are ready to date and others not until 18.
It depends how independent and secure you are in yourself. You should have your feet planted firmly on the ground.
You should be at a point in your life that you can make reasonably good decisions and be responsible.
Whatever age that happens to be is the perfect age.

As long as both partners are legal, and as long as abuse is ruled out of the relationship, then age is nothing but a naumber. It is "maturity" that would govern the relationship here. If both are mature enough, and able to take decisions, and none of hem is manipulating the other, then it's ok to go out.

I say maybe 14 but nothing under that. They dont understand AS well about love as older teenagers but they have some ideas. They need to find out what and what not to do in a realtionship.
