Generally I think it's because either the best option available still isn't a great one-often our choices are very limited-or because the best option is rarely the easiest and forces us out of our comfort zone. I agree with what someone else said as well-our head tells us the right thing to do while our heart wants something else.

I know exactly what you're talking about it. For me, it's usually because my brain is telling me one thing and my heart/emotions are screaming another. When both don't align I feel down and confused.
