I only have my step kids on the weekend and it's Just me and my partner during the week.

We shop at Sainsburys and spend about £150 per week. (Food only - no homeware/clothes)

I'd say it's about right to be honest. Gone are the days where a weekely shop would be about £100! :(

I have trained myself not to be a mug and be lured into the BOGOF offers. They are generally not as cost effective as you would think.

We dont buy any frozen produce generally - only oven chips every now and again for the kids and peas! lol £150-£170 is all on fresh fruits and veg also fish/meat.

Damn, it sounds like a lot now! :-S ........ But we love eating!

I spend about £120 on the main shop (food, cleaning products, some toiletries) usually at morrisons, then another £10 - £20 3 or 4 times a week top up. I shop for clothes, other toiletries etc seperately so dont include these in my main shop. There are 5 of us (2 adults and 3 children). I think your spend is about average based on what I know myself and friends and family spend. Even though I think its about right spend wise I think the cost is far too much - its a huge chunk out of anyones wages but we've all got to eat..

yep thats way too much i spend around £50 a week and that lasts for a week, i shop in asdas and there 2 adults and 2 children. Plus we dont buy anything cheap as my family will not eat it at all. And plus im very fussy with my food and meat. I normally pick up milk and bread in the week too as we run out of that.

I spend about €170 a week and that's for 2 adults and 3 kids. Maybe spend an extra €50 or so at the weekend on nicies and wine. Sound ok to me. Depends also on what type of food you buy. I would spend the bulk of my money on meat - very fussy

I spend about £60 per week on food, although about £20 of that is on fruit and veg alone!

Then every 6 months i spend about £250 on new clothes for me and the kids.

Idont think thats too much, but then i am on a low wage!

We spend about £80 but that includes nappies, wipes and formula milk, toiletries. we shop at tesco or sainsburys. That is 4 2 adults and a 11 month old baby. I think u are spending way 2 much, never go shopping if your hungry cos u seem 2 buy. xx

Wow you spent on average £800 a month on shopping, that could be one person's income.

Do you really get through it all? Do you find yourself throwing allot of food away?

I spend around £40 - £50 a week and that for me (pregnant), my partner and 3 cats!

I suppose if you have the money it doesn't matter, it's not harming anyone but I think I'd cry if I spent that much each and every week.

There are two adults in our household and we spend £40-£60 at Morrisons I would have guessed for a family of your size £100ish, maybe try getting bubble bath n cleaning products eg non food items from cheaper shops as these types of things bump my bill up too, supermarkets are convenient but not always cheapest. If I go Adsa I always end up in George so best avoid supermarkets with clothes and stuff in. But if you can afford to spend that much then go for it!!

we spend about £150 - £200 per shop and we get the odd bit of clothing in Georges at Asda too - we also buy quite a lot of wine within that (kids - stress :))

so yours sounds about right - we tend to buy fresh meat and veg and fruit - nothing prepackaged and I think that can mean we spend a little more than average.
