Jogging is always better when compared to walking.
The body burns calories faster and keeps fit.
The heart will be stronger and BP and pulse rate will be lower if you go for slow and long distance running.
But all people can not jog. And even those who jog today can not jog forever.
Thats why all the doctors recommend walking. Because, people of all ages can always walk and always.
Brisk walking or even rythmic walking, but for long distance, lets say 10 kms a day, is always good for the body to keep fit.

Hi.........!!!!!!!!!!,
Brisk Walking only the Best because Burning of calories in Walking will be in an Uniform. In running Burning of Calories is not in Uniform way. Normally 4-5 Km per Day and 5-6 Days will suffice. On the other way one should have control over the Food intake and the same should be Balanced with Proteins, vitamins etc

over all, any exercise is good. long walks are easier on your joints, while running is better for your heart. you should not try to categories kms to age. it all depends on how much you currently exercise. and your physical fitness level/ if you haven't exercised in a while, i would start of slow. if you jump into it, you could actually do more harm then help to your body. personally, i prefer a bike. it's easy on your joints, like walking, and you can still get your heart rate up like running.

Running is a better work out for your heart and body but can be hard on your knees and joints.
Walking is a more gentle exercise that is not as hard on your joints but not as good exercise for your heart.
