I have been diagnosed with anxiety about three years ago.
It went away for a few months only I did nothing but a bit of work for 6 month after high school.
It is back now.
I only have it when I am not with my friends, when I am with them I am fine.
I get anxious about uni, work, girlfriend and worry about things be for they happen and that are unlikely to happen.
Any advice for dealing with it or making it less of a problem?

I have been a sufferer of anxiety and panic attacks. I used to become extremely paranoid during a panic attack. I researched this topic in order to deal with my anxiety problem. Therapy and prescription drugs are customary solutions for this problem.

Since therapy is expensive, I took a prescription drug. Although in the beginning, it made me feel joyful and relaxed. I felt that I was becoming dependent on the medicine so I started looking for some alternative treatment.

Hypnosis is one recommendation for anxiety relief but I used a natural remedy to deal with my anxiety problem. I was a little skeptical but I got amazing results. Since you have been suffering from anxiety for the last 3 years, you might consider a combination of hypnosis and a natural remedy.

The best of all, it is not going to cost you much.

You can find more information on the causes and treatment of anxiety from the following source. .....Good Luck

Hey man I have had panic and anxiety attacks too it can be very scary it feels like nothing is real. You have a lot going for you whether you realize it or not. Take a couple deep breaths you will be fine. Anxiety cannot hurt you and sometimes it creeps up on you without you realizing it. It can be the scariest thing in the world because your brain is hyping you up with all kinds of crazy chemicals. You can control this and there is nothing wrong with you man. Enjoy life and have fun with it. When you get that feeling say "F this anxiety I am going to ignore it and have a good time with my life." and it will go away. Have fun with this girl and relax. Whatever happens, happens. Just go with the flow if you need anymore advice or techniques/ counseling you can e-mail me. Good luck and enjoy the ride =)

Deep breathing can help; exhale as much air out as possible and inhale as much air in as possible. Try to do that for a few minutes once or twice a day.

If somethings really extreme, breathe into a paper bag for a few seconds.

If those things don't help very much, tell a doctor and get on medication.

I have a history of anxiety and depression and I have been through all three with good results.

Social anxiety can cause these feelings.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/cognitive_b... worked best for me. I suffered from social anxiety for over 15 years. I've tried meds, individual therapy, and group therapy and studied psychology for 10 years, as a profession, but also with the hope to cure myself.

Depending on your comfort level, you could go to a psychologist that practices CBT and specializes in anxiety disorders, seek a group therapy, or create one. Usually those that do attend the group therapy are a bit more high functioning because as you know, it can be difficult to speak in a group.

Another idea is to see if there are any local research studies being conducted that you could participate in.

The program that finally worked the best for me is this one: http://www.socialanxiety.us/findinghelp.... and I was lucky enough to have a structured behavioral group to go along with it. Sometimes the people that actually attend this program come back home and form groups.

Any questions, let me know ... I can't tell you how much this has improved my life!

Well, you could try taking deep, slow breathes when it starts to happen. Depending how you react with your anxiety.

Anxiety is a real problem, not "just in your head". See a doctor.
