lost my toolbar on the desktop?

The bar with start, shutdown etc. Can someone tell me how to get it back please.

Move the mouse down to the bottom... often it is set to "auto hide" although windows may be crashing (suprise suprise), so just restart!

Are you using Windows XP? If yes, You need to download a patch which will edit registry and bring your taskbar back.
Just search google and you will get a patch file.

Try putting your mouse right down at the bottom of the screen, the very bottom, not nearly the bottom but right at the bottom, and see what pops up
