The install starts fine; however, after the first load and initial reboot I get the MSDOS A:\ prompt. What do I need to do to finish the installation?

boot off a floppy choose cd support when it asks, you then place the windows 98 cd in the cd drive at the A: prompt type the letter of your cd drive such as d: (don't forget the colon after the letter) or whatever it is, press return type setup.exe that should run the setup program for win 98 then just let it get on with it
you can view what's on the disk by typing dir then pressing return

If you used a floppy disk to start the installation, take it out of the drive and reboot

Get a free, reliable and up to date operating system. Try UBUNTU or XUBUNTU. Once you have one of these installed you gain access to thousands of free programs created by the open source community.

You explore them from the CD. If you like it, you can do a dual boot with 98.
