I am about to break a wonderful boy's heart. It's going to be a tough break-up but I don't know how to do so. The reason is something I rather not tell him. It has to do with someone in his family. Please help me. I'm afraid to look at his face and tell him the truth. Thanks

Since some of you think that I need to be more specific , well.. It's because his mom does not approve of th relationship. Being inter-racial and all. And plus the fact that he's sitting for his GCEs this year.

just tell him its not working out and you really liked being with him, but you just cant go on like this for much longer. just tell him its not his fault in any way and maybe in the future there might be something there, but right now your just not ready to stay in the relationship

wow u poor thing u sound like ur in a pickle, anyway i would firstly make sure that you tell him yourself b4 someone else tells him. i would talk to him in private on a day or night that u wouldnt have2 see or speak to each other like to give him space. make sure you tell him in person and not over the phone even though that is easier.finally how to tell him, well i would just tell him exactly how i felt and dont make up any lies.im not saying that it is the easiest way to do it but you have to tell him the truth straight away otherwise you may not even be friends again or itll just make it all harder for you.and if you do get stuck dont take it out on your friends they should be there to help you. well i hope that helped you out lol! good luck!

You at least owe him an explanation. Even if the real reason is too delicate to discuss, try to find another reason that is easier to talk about. " I need to concentrate on school, career, family life, etc..." It is sincerely a shame that this "wonderful boy" has to suffer because of a member of his family. You may want to rethink this situation, and find a better solution to your problem.

I guess you owe him the truth...what would you expect if the roles were reversed? I would feel better knowing the truth...no matter how horrible it was...then left wondering what happened or worse...that I had done something wrong. Be fair to him...he may not take it well but at least you will have been honest.

Are you sure you want to do that? cos you're right, you're really going to break his heart.. is that the only way out? it's kind of cruel and unfair in my opinion because what his mother thinks of you is pretty much beyond his control and certainly does not represent his opinions on you.. and you mention he's having his exams soon so do you think the break-up is not going to affect him? if you really have to, my advice is to tell it to him after his exams..

To be fair to him you should tell the reason, that way at least he might have a chance of realising YOU'RE not worth breaking his heart over!

Don't leave him in the dark. It will only make matters worse. Dont let him imagine why you left him.tell him the truth. He has the right to know, after all..its his heart you are about to break.

It would be the meanest thing as being the meanest ***** by keeping him in dark without him knowing and breaking up.

You're breaking up with him because of someone in his family, not even something he did? Ouch.
