If you accept Jesus died for your sin, then you can be saved, if you dont take the free gift then how can your sin be forgiven?

Yes Jesus died for our sins, salvation is a free gift from God but like any gift has to be accepted and received.

It's a bit like saying there is a lot of soap in the world today, but there are still many dirty faces because the soap is not applied.

To accept and receive this free gift of salvation is simply done in prayer by admitting to God you are a sinner, that you have done things wrong, asking God to forgive you, repenting (turning away) from your sin and by asking Jesus to become your Lord and Saviour.

Then and only then have you accepted and received this free gift the way God has decreed it to be received.

Should you wish to know more about this or want to ask more questions then please feel free to e-mail me if I can be of any help

Christ warned a group of Jews, “ye shall...die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come....if ye believe not that I am he...[he is in italics, added by the translators] (Jn 8:21,24). “I AM” is the name of God that He revealed to Moses at the burning bush (Ex 3:14) and that Christ clearly claims for Himself: “I and my Father are one” (Jn 10:30). Isaiah declared prophetically that the Messiah who would be born of a virgin (Is 7:14) would be “The mighty God, The everlasting Father” (Is 9:6). Christ’s language is precise. He doesn’t tell the Jews, “Before Abraham was, I was.” He says, “Before Abraham was, I am” (Jn 8:58). He is the self-existent One without beginning or end, “the Alpha and the Omega” (Rv 1:8, 11; 21:6; 22:13).

One has to make a personal decision to believe, accept and follow. It's not enough to know that Jesus died for you. You need to make it personal because God gave us free will so we could make the choice.

It all comes down to the basic question of "whether or not you ACCEPT the offer made on that cross"?
Accept and be forgiven, or reject and go to Hell - your choice!

SOME PEOPLE WANT TO STAND ON THEIR OWN GOOD DEEDS, AND BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE SO GOOD.

THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT THE PERFECT WORK OF CHRIST IN THEIR BEHALF.

ONLY CHRIST'S PERFECT WORK IS ACCEPTABLE.
