Can anyone tell me if the saline solution you can buy to clean contact lenses in pharmacies is suitable for cleaning the outside of an oral piercing? It's the only pre-mixed saline solution I've been able to find.

This is ok to use but the best thing for a piercing is ROCK SALT, you cant beat it, dissolve some in boiling hot water wait for it to cool then dip a cotton pad in the water, place it on the piercing and leave it there for a couple of minutes without touching it, allowing the skin to soak up the salted water.

Saline solution will work fine, however Listerine mouthwash has antiseptic properties that will clean AND may even help numb the area.

It will work just fine but boiled and cooled salt water (home brew) will work just as well and save you the expense.
