Very much so.

Though I'm not saying they ARE related because I'm not a doctor, but I do know that they can be related in some situations. My daughter just recently got over a month long cold and she had a sore throat the entire time and then about a week into the cold she ended up having eye problems that resulted in the exact same fashion that you're describing. It turns out along with the cold she also had a bacterial eye infection.

Just take him to the doctor to get checked and make sure to be precise in your discussion with him regarding your son's symptoms and if it's what I think it is, then it's just a very simple treatment of eye drops for a week.

With all that being said, it goes without saying that it may very well may be something else that just duplicates common symptoms. A short trip to the doctor will do best for whatever the end result may be.

I wish you and your son the very best in his recovery! Colds are no fun as it is, but they're even worse with our children!

I wouldn't think so. The eye sounds like conjunctivitis, a highly infectious condition which needs treating with eye drops from your doctor. You should get his throat looked at too.

I don't know but I do work for one of the top Ophthalmologists in the world. So it wouldn't hurt to get him checked out. Optometrists are a waste of time. Find a real doctor!

Well... I don't think thsi will help but I used to have something like it before... You could either see the doctor or just like buy eye drop.(I'm elergic to pollum so every spring my eye itches)

Hope this helps!

It sounds like he has pinkeye. Take him to the doctor and have it taken care of. It's infectious and will spread to others if you don't.
