I have been going through bouts of depression since teenage years but now everything that i used to enjoy i dont care about, in fact there isnt much i care to do. I just wake up each day looking forward to the day being over before i get out of bed, and since i have no insurance/doctor i dont know how to look for help, can i just go to a regular doctor the depression comericals say "ask your doctor....." so can i make an appt and just tell that doctor my symptoms and ideas of the cause. I just want to feel "good" again

That's a tough question. I've struggled with depression on and off for many years. What ended up helping me the was a short term on medication. Try finding a free clinic or something like that. I don't think generic meds are very expensive if that's what they think you need.

Beyond that, try eating better and getting a lot of exercise. You may also want try a form of meditation like Zen or Yoga. That helped me immensely.

I'm now in the same boat. No insurance. Like 30 million other americans...

It was easier for me to call a local psych clinic with fresh faces and very supportive atmosphere . My regular Dr didn't see the things that a person trained to deal with depression does. Pick one out of the book...they make payment plans EASY!

Yes, you can start with your primary care physician if you have one but because of the issue of no insurance check with your city's health dept to see if they offer a free clinic and start there. If not check to see if there's a Medical School close by that can be of help.

Feel better soon.
