jealousy is NOT a virtue at all. Plus it is a precursor to hatred.

Yes, jealousy is better virtue than hatred, of course. Hatred is worse than jealousy and it brings a lot of psycho-somatic reactions that can harm the person hating someone. Best thing is to try and brush aside whenever the thought comes about the person whom we happen to hate. Automatically in the long run, the thougts do not come bother us. We are safe atleast.

No! hatred is a better one as in jealousy you r deviated from the path by what other is doing, and thinking of the other person and in hatered you don't even feel like thinking of the person.
Then hatred could be even positive but there is no scope for jealousy to be positive.

Two equally wasted and conquerable emotions; neither of them does you any good and at best they limit your ability to function within a civilized society and act like a normal, well-adjusted individual. Whenever you get the urge to feel jealousy or hatred of another person, stop and ask yourself why...you cannot control another's actions; why not work on the ones you can: your own!

Jealousy and hatred are equally bad (any extreme of emotion is) but personally I think jealousy is worse---it's more petty, vindicitive and vile than hatred --I can see hatred for people who abuse children for instance, I can never see a justifiable reason for being jealous of someone because of what they have or what they look like.

Yes it is. But the chance always exists that jealousy could turn into hatred.

Both are good in their constructive ways. To hate is not good. But, when you hate some bad habit its good. In that way to be jealous of someone is just like burning within but to take that jealousy as a base to do something while mixing your hard work to that. The same will definitely help you in future.

Jealousy is greed or gluttony-wanting what someone else has.
Hatred is the action one may take to get it.
Both are (sloth) laziness.
It lets you blame others instead of looking into yourself for the truth.
Truth is a virtue, but you cannot impose it on others.
