If Hawaii has a reciprocating agreement with Massachusettes,
and many states do, Mass will suspend your license for them
and you will be in deeper - I would take care of it before you leave
can you attend driving school to get out of it?
best of luck

All these folks are correct. It will turn into a warrant first, then another warrant will appear for not appearing in court on the original charge...that's 2 warrants now. Each carries court costs and fines. Usually the FTA warrant is more expensive than the charge. Then your license in MA will be suspend and not reinstated until Hawaii clears you. The there are fees and fines to get your MA license reinstated.
In addition your driving record will show your license was suspend at one time which means a higher insurance rate when they find out. A invalid inspection is not a hazardous citation like speeding is and will not affect your insurance or driving history if paid.

States have to have an agreement with the other state in order to enforce the ticket in another state. You need to find out if your state and the state that you got the ticket in have such an agreement. Often they only do with nearby states.
Ask the DMV or court if they have an agreement.
