Poor credit rating means no company will take the risk of you not paying for goods/ services.
Except if you pay a higher charge to compensate them for your percieved unreliability. e.g. higher interest rates on loans to those with poor credit rating.
The link below is to a nice phone you can get with a poor credit rating
http://www.virginmobile.com/vm/viewProduct.do?productId=89B2A660-0C41-4F66-89D5-EF6E4071138D
But you have to buy the phone for about £270

Having a poor credit rating means that either you have not established a credit history, or you have a history of not paying people what you owe them.
Modern cellphones are generally worth way more than you ever pay for them. A cellphone you see advertised at $99 may actually cost the cellphone company $199 to give to you. So they want to hook you into a contract and during that time they will make enough money from you to make up for the shortfall in phone cost.
Unfortunately if you have a poor credit rating due to lack of credit, they have no way of knowing if you will always pay your bill on time, so they may lose the potential profit they were hoping to make from you that would offset the risk of giving you a phone that's worth more than you paid for it.
If you have bad credit, because you have failed to pay your bills on time, then you have a proven track record of not keeping your agreements with others. This makes them nervous. If you didn't keep your agreements with other creditors, why should you suddenly be nice to their company?
So the best I can suggest right now is to clean up your credit, and get a pay as you go phone. Better yet make do with the phone you have that is 'pants' unless it is costing you way too much money, and use the money you didn't spend on a new phone to clean up your credit.

This is easily solved. They will not give you a phone because of a poor credit rating, not many people realise this but the phone company are commiting an offence under the human right act.
Take them to the small claims court. Make an appointment with a solicitor.

ok three is generally the easiest to get into, so if you've been declined maybe you should take a serious look at your financial situation and like some have adivised stick to payg (know it can be a pain but maybe its your safest option for now). alternatively you could try o2. my b/f got a contract (2000 o/p + 200txts for £25) out from them and i know his score is well low. obviously dont try taking out a £50 contract if your score is low that will only make things worse because you'll have to wait the recommended 6 months before re-applying with whichever ones you did.

Yep I'm with Mishnbong, Pay as you go is great, I'm with Orange and top up by at least £10 monthly get 300 free texts and other rewards. Its not hard to find a place to buy credit either, all the supermarkets, all the pay point shops and loads of garages do it.

So a pants phone for a pants guy.
Pay your bills on time for a better credit rating.

Looks like you're not getting one then... Most of the ones I know, make you pay a deposit if you have bad credit.
