Menopause is a natural step in a woman's life cycle, yet the accompanying weight gain is an absolute concern.Due to that also increases the risk of diabetes, heart disease, and has been strongly linked to increased incidence of breast and other hormone-related cancers post menopause. These healthcare concerns have led to the conception of specific products like ESTRO-SD that target menopausal weight gain.

No. Menopause does not cause anyone to gain weight. Eating more calories than you expend in a day causes weight gain. As the body ages, we tend to require fewer calories. We also tend to exercise less. If we don't eat fewer calories, the result is weight gain. Your mother is probably gaining weight for exactly this reason. If you wish to avoid this problem when it is your turn at menopause, then make the necessary adjustments.
