I just had the exact same thing done. I had very long healthy sleek hair and the woman chemically burned my hair with the perm soloution so it was like teased hair , frizzy and wouldnt straighten for anything. Theres no soloution for it, i've tried. The best thing to do is to try and cut the perm out of your hair. Unfortunatly the perm is to the roots so you have to cut off as much as you can then use an extreem moisture treatment. I will recomend the treatment i did. My hair grew back amazingly healthy and quickly also. Heres the plan. Go to sally and buy main and tail deep conditioning treatment, a big bottle of cholestoral ( extreem moisture ) and a few shower caps. the stylist told me to use it 3 times a week, but i did the main n tail every day and it worked better. So use the main n tail every day and leave the conditioner on for a few minutes in the shower. Then twice a week put on a ton of the cholestoral and leave it on about an hour if you can and just put on the shower cap. Wash it out and if you want to you can buy the " Ion" leave in conditioner and just spritz it after every wash. This will keep your hair soft. I did all of this to my hair and it grew out quickly and is more healthy than before. Sorry your perm was bad, so was mine. So i hope this treatment works for you too.

Ok so here's the deal. The only ways to get rid of a perm are:
1. Cut it out (WAY too drastic, I think)
2. Have it chemically straitened (not a great idea if your hair is already fried)
or 3. let it grow out.

Option 3 is by far the best.
In the mean time, you need to get your butt into a stylists chair and have a couple of inches cut off to get rid of the worst of the knackered ends (if your hair is down to your **** you will hardly notice the difference) and then you're gonna need to do some EXTREME moisture treatments on your hair at least 2-3 times a week.
It won't get rid of the perm, but it will help the condition of your hair and tame that 'poofyness'
Bottom line.........you're gonna need a bit of patience and a ton of really strong conditioning treatment!!

Use really good products. You can't get "rid" of it but you can tame it. I'd use straighting shampoos and conditioners. Get a deep salon conditioning every three weeks. Beauty schools charge $15-20 per. Use a natural bristle brush to reduce breakage.

I had fried my hair from years of perming and a really, really good hair stylist, one good with chemicals, who colors a lot, would be good for you. They need to be good with chemicals though and the kind that make "pretty" hair not cut edge new and wow hair. You do not need that!! Now I'm not saying color your hair but a girl good with chems knows what your hair can and cannot take right now. Keep going back to her over and over. It will take time. This won't be cheap so just suck it up. It is what it is.
