I think you've got a bad start in life if this is all you have to say about people. When you tell a fat person their fat it's as offensive as telling a thin person that is skinny that their skinny. No answer to your question just wanted to make a comment. Don't hate!!

the truth is, it doesn't even MATTER if a person is LAZY or NOT or have a slow metabolism. I DON'T CARE what excuse these other people make... it is primarily their fault... why?

1. Not doing research - In this information age, you can actually find tons of information on the internet. Heck consult your family doctor if you wanted opinion on this. It's so easy, yet not many people are doing it.

2. It does not matter if you DON'T workout or NOT. What matters is what you're eating. If you're eating more calories than your body needs, then of course you'll gain weight, regardless of working out.

a lot of people gain weight because they eat too much processed food. think about it... eating a whole quarter pounder burger w/ cheese would be about 500 calories alone, with several grams of fat.... would that make you full? probably not... you would eat some fries and coke and that would total to about 1000 calories (about half your daily need!)

well consider eating a nice grilled chicken for lunch with some mixed vegetables or a salad and some bread and water... you're probably going to be so stuffed after eating all this... but the calories? just about 500 to 600 i'd say... if you don't use too much oil... better if you use whole wheat bread as this keeps you fuller longer.

3. NOT all low fat foods are NON FATTENING... in fact, a lot of them are FATTENING - a lot of people are misinformed thinking that low fat is healthy, however also consider the sugar, which adds a lot of calories...

A lot of people have never considered doing their research and eating healthy portions of healthy food...Some people have just given up because they seem to always gain weight, but they never really looked back at the problem in the first place. Some people gave up because they tried a quick fix rather than fixing the problem itself.

The main problem is with themselves. Their attitude towards food and "healthy eating"

I grew up with a "chubby" family. Needless to say, I was overweight in my early life. However, one day I stood up and said that this had to stop.

I started doing research and found out the cause. All the traditional meals we are eating are high in fat and/or sugar Also, the portions that we are eating are WAY too much...

if you're asking what I weight now... I'm at 145lbs and at 11.0% bodyfat (you can actually start seeing my six pack now) :P

bottomline, it's their fault...

I think laziness is a factor in a way because we have the option to walk rather than drive or to eat healthy food rather than proceed food. Also a parsons education on these matters would effect them but there is no excuse for ignorance when we have so many libraries, bookstore, professionals and the internet to learn from. I think more than anything people get caught into certain patterns which can be hard to break out from especially as there are deeper underlying psychological issues that result in these patterns of behaviour rather than someone being plain greedy just for the sake of it.

Eat only when hugry and not more than three times a day. Include plenty of fruits and uncooked vegetables in ur meals. In between the meals take only water. Chew each morsel of food at least 32 times so that ur body systems become functional u get better nutrition. Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly. By adopting the above practices u will be able to achieve ur ideal weight in a reasonable period of time.

Haha nice question, I think a lot of people are fat, especially in America because they have lots of fast food, they watch too much good TV shows on their big plasma screens, and when they do go outside it's either because they ran out of ice cream/ any other fatty foods, but that's just my opinion...

ALL OF THE ABOVE AND MORE.... our society is flooded with too much FastFood...everything slithered with fats...fries and chips, dips and we flushed them with refreshing sodas...and they taste ever so yummy....EVEN to the point of being content of being FAT...thats the problem there...and it starts in childhood. A child not trained to eat veggies would succumb to this disease.

perhaps its their metabolisms and they don't burn calories very fast...I am overweight and I really don't eat very much and it is all healthy fresh food I make...its the same thing the other 8 people in my family eat....I do stay the same weight and don't gain or lose...same can be said for my other family members...most are very thin...but I am not...my mom isn't thin either...hard to say...I don't worry about it...I am what I am
