Super great question...One question I always get is, " what will you say in front of god.." It would appear to me that their faith is driven by fear and little else. Even the term "god fearing" is a huge part of their culture....Why live a life based on fear? I cannot wait to read some of these answers....Great Job !!!!!

We do not live in a world of absolutes. Everything is a process that can only adequately be discussed in terms of probabilities. One can not absolutely disprove or prove anything, only establish a meaningful estimate of its probability of occurence.

We know, through examination and experimentation, that there is a force that we call gravity. We call it gravity because the Theory of Gravity, based upon the evidence, appears to have the highest probability of being an accurate explanation of the phenomena.

Likewise, we observe natural selection in process around the world even today, as organisms change, by reproduction, and adapt to the changing conditions of their environments. The Theory of Evolution is a theory, and not just a hypothesis, because, based on the evidence, it has the highest probability of being an accurate explanation of the phenomena observed.

Where then is there sufficient evidence such that one would conclude that god has the highest probability of being a reasonable, much less accurate, explanation of phenomena observed? One need not disprove god. Remember there are no absolutes, only probabilities. Based upon the available evidence, there is a very low probability of god's existence or to say it another way, a very high probability that god does NOT exist. When probabilties reach such extremes, we typically state it as an absolute. Gravity IS the force that attracts objects to each other. Evolution IS the process by which organisms adapt over time. Likewise, we can conclude god doesn't exist.

There is no proof that God doesn't exit (just like there isn't proof that God exists). You might think that science has it all figured out, but in reality it hasn't. There are discoveries published every day in various scientific journals. I think a person with a purely scientific mind wouldn't be an atheist or a believer, because science doesn't prove anything (unlike you might believe), it discovers...and there is a big difference between the two.

There is no burden of proof. We do not have a problem. We have not set out to disprove anything. Scientific finds as to creation and evolution are just that. Cold facts devoid of morals. They are what they are whether we like it or not. The problem is self created by religion. It has made some gross assumptions about the creation of the universe and about the creation of life. It turned these assumptions to Dogma. Scientific evidence contradicts this dogma and they have a problem. We do not have a dogma. We go with what "works" and we always throw away what does not "work" even if at some point it was considered the explanation(whatever happened to "phlogiston"??) For me the answer to your question is it will take time to convince people of their misplaced devotion.

Atheist have already proved that God does not exist in them. It's also obvious that you do carry a burden. Most of you are filled with hate, anger, addictions, selfishness, fornication, and the like. I believe you all have enough of a burden already without troubling yourselves with someone trying to believe in Jesus and live a moral life as best they can. Your hate for me recently was so great you wrote on your 360 that you was planing my death. Isn't that enough of a burden to carry such hate that you would actually want to kill someone. No my dear you have proven quite well already that God does not exist in you.

I would say a God that people claim is all loving and cares so much about humanity yet has never done a single thing to help anyone in all of history is proof that there is NO GOD!

After all if there was a God that could look at all the suffering children in the world and do nothing about it when he has the power that is PURE EVIL!

So if this God exists he muse be pure evil.
OR
There is no God.

This is the problem with atheism! Atheists walk around trying to prove something that can never be proven. They represent themslves as being the opposite of theists, yet they seem to still be in search of the unattainable. This is why I love being agnostic. There is no argument and there is nothing to prove or argue about. There may or may not be a god. Nobody can prove it either way. More importantly, I don't care. I will be moral either way.

*snorts* Richard Dawkins doesn't even accept anything as "proof positive" that a negative has been proven. He considers himself a 6 leaning towards a 7 but not completely 7 (and if you don't know what I mean, I suggest reading his "The God Delusion" book). I do respect him for this, keeping himself just shy of "knowing God doesn't exist" since, again, we can't PROVE a negative....... no matter how much the god concept is logically IMPOSSIBLE.

The only possible way to prove God does not exist is to die and find out. Proving or disproving God is impossible. One can only take the evidence and make a decision for themselves

Irrelevant, since it can't be done. Neither the existence nor non-existence of god is subject to proof. It follows from this that any theory of god is useless: it can predict nothing about any events in the real world.

I say the only convincing thing would be if God Herself came down out of the clouds and said "All Humans Hear Ye! I do not exist! Don't believe in me!"

Just think about how many fundamentalists' head would explode.

(They gotta do it, because She's God, but they can't stop believing otherwise they would, apparently, die)
