Geez everybody, Avg is great and all, but is not that effective..
Look at

and you will see what I mean
I would recommend Avira
You can get it at
http://www.free-av.com
However if you had a very malicious virus, even after getting it cleaned out your computer may never go quite back to normal. It may be a good idea to reinstall windows, but try the virus scan first, and consider reinstalling as a last resort..

Hopefully you have an anti-virus program. If not, "Google" the words "AVG Free Edition", it is a free virus program. If you have one allready, restart your computer in safe mode.(hold down the f8 button at bootup). While in safe mode, run your virus scan. It may take a little while, but it's worth it. Oh yeah, make sure your Virus program has been recently updated, if not, then be sure to update before you scan it. You'll have to do that before you boot into safe mode, cause the update is downloaded from the net, and you cant access internet while in safe mode. After you run the scan, your PC will let you know what, if any, viruses were found. Than just take action accordingly. Afterwards, I would recommend, whatever the results are( good or bad), to restart the computer normally, and run the virus scan one more time. Hope this helps...good luck.

Download AVG antivirus. Its is free and with a little luck it will remove the virus from all your files. I seen it remove or repair 169 infected files before. If this doesn't work there is just one thing that I know of is reboot the whole system. Save nothing because the file you save maybe infected.

You can change what the file open's with by right clicking the file and going to "Open with..." then clicking the desired program you want then click "always use this for this type of file"
Hope it helps.
