Clerical refers to paperwork of some kind. Filing, administration, computer input, data entry, general office light duties.

Accounting clerk refers to working with numbers, money, paying for products/supplies, receiving money from customers. More focused with numbers than general office paperwork.

A skill once learned stays with us from life to life. However, the circumstances under which it will be practiced may change drastically from one socio/cultiral era to another. For instance, someone who studied accounting and was considered a great expert at it in Victorian England might have trouble with the computerized aspects of it if they reincarnated today. "The High Power" as you call it has nothing to do with it. If she has a karmic predeliction towards accounting, it is HER choice whether or not to follow it in whatever life she goes into. She DID come into this life with a pre-arranged plan - as we ALL do - but SHE, herself, is the one who worked out and wrote that plan - again, like ALL of us. We come into life with a script for that life which we wrote ahead of time with the help of karmic advisors on "the other side", but we are still creatures of free will. As such, we can and often DO vary from the path of our own pre-written lifescripts. Not to worry, though, when we do, there is always a "plan B" (yeah, sometimes even a "plan C", "plan D", etc.) that will still get us through it and still present us with the karmic lessons we were meant to study this time around. Possibly, she has simply gone to HER "plan B" this time around. If she totally blows off her former training in clerical matters and goes into something else entirely, it will just give her one MORE skill to take with her into the future and leave her one skill better fixed for the next life and beyond. By the way, a couple of those guys who answered ahead of me are going to be in for one heck of a big surprise when they finally "cash in their chips" and "buy the farm"!

Well, she can believe what she wants about reincarnation, but the facts seem to be that there are no past lives and no future lives, and that this one is the only one. Thus "my next life" is an excuse not to make the most of this one (as is the whole notion of fate or destiny...that one's life is planned out ahead of time by some universal power).
