released in February of this year, and its already March and i heard nothing about it. What does stem cells, gene therapy, or the Human Genome Project have to do with hiv? thank you

1. stem cells are undifferentiated cells,that is those cells that have not been specialized or that have not been given a specific task and the r the precoursors of all the cells of the body and thus r found in developing feotus and to a limited extent adults

2.gene therapy is a technique to replace the faulty genes of the body by new working normal functiong genes.

3.the human genome project is a project to map all the genes of the body their functioning and structure

so the faulty gene that has been mutated by the hiv virus is first detected by the map made by the human genome project
secondly there are two ways to treat it
1. either replace the gene via gene therapy or
2. provide new cell(t-cells)to replace the ones destroyed by the hiv virus
t-cells help ur body to recoginize a forign substance

HIV is totally preventable. Less money and effort should be spent on treating the disease.
