Whenever It was really cold out by the time I get to my car I'd be crying. I mean they burn so much that it's hard to open my eyes.
Why?

I agree with "cassandra". Cold air is often dry air. You may have eyes that are particularly sensitive to cold temperatures and low humidity or you may have "dry eye". It might help to protect your eyes with a clear barrier and carry artificial tears eye drops with you to use as often as needed. If you cannot resolve this on your own, speak to your doctor about it. Perhaps you'll be referred to ophthalmology.

You may be allergic to cold dry air. Check with the doctor. One funny solution will be to wear a face mask with fine gauge covering the eye openings so that you can see through them. That will keep you warm enough and your own breath will provide enough warmth and moisture to keep your eyes normal. When you are inside the car, keep the heater on.

Because the cold is drying out your eyes.. and your tears are trying to moisten them
