I like to burn dragons blood resin (the real stuff) Frankinscence or sandalwood when I meditate - it just has a "higher vibe" to it that gets me in the mood to meditate....
Scent is a very primative emotion, so I dont try to reason with it, ha ha.
What gives you that "resonance" for meditation - music? candles?

Dragons blood resin is from a tree closely related to Frankensence, they smell very much alike and have been use similarly for thousands of years.

The smell of pine trees in the fresh alpine air of the high mountains after a spring rain sends me into Atheistic ecstasy.

Ohhh.. this is an interesting topic. We all have areas in which we feel comfortable, or in which we need guidance/support. Different scents correspond to these different moods and energies.
When I am happy, I like to burn incense with vanilla, jasmine, or mimosa. They enhance my positive femininity and are relaxing as well. If I am energetic, trying to get pumped up for a hard task, I burn a more exotic scent - something with a spicy scent. I am a fire sign, and this corresponds well to my firey leonine side, and helps to energize me. If I am meditating, I use a musk (Egyptian) or a soft lemongrass. Lemongrass inspires wisdom and clarity. The musk helps to work through moods and issues in which I already feel deep in thought about.

Just my two cents!

I LOVE Dragon's Blood, it just... wonderful. I mean the real stuff too.

Frankensense and Myrr, though very ... erm, stereotypical, they really are both good. especially the Frenkensense, its a very good mmm, high-baseline, you could say? and at least the kind I got is very handy in that its convenient for using on the charcoal.

Sandalwood is a nice kinda... low-baseline, I think.

another one I'd reccomend for some situations,or to look up about, would be "Benzoin Resin"

My sense of smell has been really messed up ever since my car accident so it does nothing for me. I'm lucky if I can smell something. Sometimes I can and sometimes I can't.

But whats always done it for me is looking into a candle flame. I'm not sure why but I find my mind goes still if I just sit that way. Its not sleep but its not.... completely aware either.

Catholic church incense. I use lots of incense, all different types, but for prayer and meditation, the resin church incense is great.
