What would you do if your girlfriend/wife got fat/overweight during the course of your relationship. When you met her she was slim and slender and had an athletic build which was part of your attraction for her but she suddently let herself go.

What if she expected you to love her and be attracted to her anyway would it be a problem for you?. Would you suggest going on a diet with the safe excuse "its only because i care about your good health".

My personal opinion is that my love would never change. But i'm sure my sexual attraction would... would i stay?.. i don't know

Would you?

Some great answers already and some retarded ones. My question is directed to you readers out there what you feel and what you would do. Not what i "should" do in such a situation. Now try again

First, I would take her to a doctor to see if she was diabetic, have her see a nutritionist, have her go to the gym with me and stop buying her sugar donuts,

I don't care what her expectations were. Her health is the issue here and it is not an excuse--it is real.

Attraction? It is one thing to be overweight and another to be obese. How can any guy not be affected by either situation.

It depends on "who" my wife ends up being. If it's a person I have in mind now, then weight would never change anything. There aren't many things that would.

If it's someone I meet later down the road, and somehow a physical marriage takes place rather than an emotional one, then I suppose a loss of physical attraction might be a significant thing. So, it really all depends. I suppose that scenario would really test how much you meant what you said on the altar.

I Know you're asking the guys this, but from a girls perspective, that this has happened to...... Also think, this is also true vice versa, because most men don't say as trim and buff during the course of a r'ship as they were in the beginning

Not all women who gain weight throughout a r'ship are "letting themselves go". Some ppl, like myself for instance, have other contributing factors, such as stress, medical conditions etc

If you truly love somone, you love them for the person they are, not what they look like. I understand what you mean about your sexual attraction, but when you are committed to someone the attraction changes and looks are no longer relevant. If it changes how you feel about them, then you never truly loved them in the first place.

maaannn, there are two kinds of relations in this type of relation.one would b physical and another would b mental.so u guys have to have both to bond a strong relation!!very important!!

and only one can overcome the other if it is too powerful to overrule, which is "sacrifice".let me make it simple for you,if ur feelings for her(character) is so strong, then u wouldnt b thinking about her figure right now.however,u must be concerned about her health since you love her.

but ya, sex is what we are here for isnt it?let her know that u want to "sacrifice" anything (i.e. her figure got fat..)but only to love her.when she realizes it, she will definitely, 200% surely, inevitably that she will try to decrease her fat!!and thats when guyss,,,yours and hers love increase to 200%.

I suppose that she popped out a couple of your kids and now she isn't worth looking at or giving it to. Then you say "she suddenly" gained a lot of weight. It takes 9 months of pregnancy to totally develop a child. It's not her health you are caring about, it's just your attraction to her. You guys are so shallow, if you would have fell in love with her for her personality and not how she looks then you would still be in love with her now. You know what dump her then go get someone else pregnant then she can get fat and you can leave her too.

Sign up for exercise classes at the gym or take up jogging together after work or before work so you both slim down together. Wouldn't it be fun?

Why doesn't the question of whether you got fat trouble you as much? Do you think you'd be as attractive with 20 extra pounds? On the other hand, did you marry her for her shape or who she is?

That's the poorest excuse i've ever heard,You feel in love with her not her body,What if the shoe was on the other foot,She would love you no matter what, and would stick by you, don't be selfish things change in life but when you love someone the way you say you love this women weight shouldn't be the issue she is still the same person you meet and fell in love with.

A nd yes i would stay if you love this women you'll stay. It's not whats on the outside it's what's on the inside what counts. It sounds like you would cheat on your women cause if thats what matters to a guy is a good body than thats selfish.

IF your the real man you stay and you work on her health.WALK wih her. BOTH of you cut carbs. EAT more veggies. I WONDER IF SHE SHOULD DO THE same thing to you, when you get cancer, or get in a car wreck that messes up your body+ face. OR YOU loose everything and half to start over.SHOULD she leave you then as well?
