Life in the Spirit for a Christian is not a religion but it is having intimacy with the Holy Spirit (who is God's Spirit, the Spirit of Christ, the Spirit of Truth, etc) who lives in a Christian's body which is His temple. When a Christian is born-again his old life is crucified in Christ and he walks in the new creation life in Christ Jesus (Rom 6:6, 2 Cor 5:17, Gal 2:20). Such a Christian is then walking in the Spirit and will enjoy life more abundantly as Jesus Christ has promised for now and eternally (John 10:10).
He has the abundance of God's grace and His gift of righteousness to reign in life (Rom 5:17). The spiritual life is a life of intimacy with God and has nothing to do with obeying religious rituals nor religion.

In my own beliefs, religion and SPIRITUALITY, thus a relationship; are altogether two very different things. Religion IS rigid, and ritual gets in the way of a personal relationship with Christ. Anyone can read in the Holy Bible how JESUS, even Peter and Paul too!~~Had "verbal smackdowns" on the Pharisee's, and those who professed to be God's "elite". When in fact they were nothing but people who loved their place of power and did not know their prophecies; and thus the SCRIPTURES. The truth is...GOD demands that we worship "In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!" PRAYER IS THE WAY!

Is this a question or the beginning of a statement? I think you need to focus on the basis and keep true to that. Rituals should be supporting and no the beginning and end of your religious beliefs, as most of these are man made.

The most simple way is to follow the inner voice. It always cares for you and believe me, it knows all about your future. Listen to it and success will be yours.

Can't be done, religion is not the way.
The only way is through the Lord Jesus Christ, God the son, who is God come to us in the flesh. God came to us in this manner specifically so that there would be a way for us to come to Him. Accepting Jesus as your own personal Lord (God) and Saviour will ensure you success in the resurrection, but it practically guarantees you failure in this world. Why? Because this world is at war with God and with those who accept Him, who God calls His Children (and who are known by other names, such as Christians, Israel, Bride of Christ, Beloved of God).
The only way to be successful here as a Christian, is for the world to be at peace with God, and that will happen in the Millenium, when God comes to reign on this earth as Jesus.
