You should have the passion for it. And the perseverance to practice. That's how I learned how to draw. It took me almost 8 years (since first grade) now and I now that I still have to practice. Do not be contented with what you are now today, but always aim higher. There's always room for improvement.

Practice is the best way to improve your skills. Make a list of your skills and make sure that you get time to put these skills into use. Soon you will discover with great surprise that you are an artist in these skills.
