I always wondered what Asian women (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) women really thought about dating Filipino guys. Don't get me wrong, I got tons of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean friends and have dated all types of asian women. But for some reason I get the feeling that some other Asian women don't think very highly of Filipino men. I sometimes think that they have this attitude of thinking they are too good for us and that we are not in the same class as them as far as dating and social status is concerned.
I know all about the stereotypes of Filipino men. You know, the shaved head, ghetto clothing style, racing cars, break dancers, who at times are not articulate and can't speak proper english at times (steet slang).
I know that my friends wouldn't tell me in up front, but I don't really think they want to date Filipino guys because they think we are so ghetto. I'm just curious to know what other asian women really think.

im cambodian and chinese. my boyfriend is filipino... not the stereotypical kind you just described though. he's kinda white haha.
also, I'm not attracted to ghetto guys. nothin to do with whether or not they are filipino.
anyway, I don't know about Chinese and Japanese... but I read that Koreans tend to think they are better than all other asians. they associate more within the Korean race. they prefer to call themselves Korean-American instead of Asian-Americans because they don't want to be associated with other asians. they prefer to date white or korean people.
I don't know that many korean people so I can't confirm.

the stereotyped filipino men that you described is actually those filipinos who are already influenced by western culture. Filipino guys who were born and raised in the Philippines are way so much different that these white-washed guys.

I'm going to tell you the truth, it's more like the family honor that prevent them to date people of different colors majority of the northern Asian girls like anyone light skin and tall~usually. Since their family are very strict, and thin skinned. I'm Chinese, by the way my sister used to date a Hispanic guy, it made my parents steamy mad. They told us, they'll kick us out if anyone of us do that again.
If you like someone of those three cultures, I'll tell you a secret, which is don't act ghetto and be eloquent,always think before you speak, east Asians parents hates people ask silly questions. They prefer quietness and classy guys.

II am a Asian woman and I think Filipino guys are hot! Just hadn't the chance to meet one though...only in kindergarten once, has a crush on this Filipino boy with a shaven head. Yes, i still remember his name and he was soooo cute!
