Blast kills six U.S. soldiers north of Baghdad.

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Six U.S. soldiers were killed by a blast north of Baghdad on Monday, the U.S. military said on Tuesday, in one of the single deadliest ground attacks against American forces in Iraq in months.

Three other soldiers were wounded after an explosion went off near their vehicles in the province of Salahaddin, the military said in a statement, without giving details. It was reported the American Troops didn't have a chance.

Because in a war zone this sort of thing happens sad enough. We are giving this country alot. New schools, hospitals and freedom. We are also trying to rid the world of terrorist who plot on our nation and other free nations. Just remember freedom isn't free, thousands of our soldiers have paid for it with their lives. Support your troops we would appreciate it.

Yes we killed more troops in Vietnam than of ours were killed, yet we lost the war due to not accomplishing our mission. In this case remember what Terrorist did to us...September 11th, we have a valid reason to be hunting them down, yes I don't see 100% with our current leadership, but there is no doubt in my mind that we are right in being in the middle east hunting down, eliminating and or detaining terrorist.

You say Iraq wasn't in 9-11, Ha! Don't listen fully to the media, they sensationalize alot of things that they aren't sure about. There are Terrorist Cells all over the middle east, including Iraq, being a combat solder and being deployed for my third time next month I'm sure I know more about whats going on than a news station who will say anything to get ratings. Again I don't fully believe Bush is a great president at all, but I have personally seen detainees get arrested with documentation and other evidence on plotting to destroy American and other western nations interest.

Honestly fellow Americans whom I am prepare to die for, get your info from a soldier, marine, sailor or airmen. Someone who has been out there and know whats going on. The media does not portray the good happening. You never hear about the civilians over there hugging and supporting us, I've seen it. You never hear about the schools being built and how the standard of living is rapidly improving. They are becoming free, they can vote for the first time and no longer have a mean dictator, Yes alot of work needs to be done, and thats why we are there, not to mention to make sure our nation is safe from terrorist.

The American soldiers were killed because they were somewhere they shouldn't have been. If Iraq, and all other Middle East states were just flattened we could start on the road to world peace. Instead the powers that be allow refugees from these radical parts of the world to come to our civilized part, ruining it. The soldiers should be called home with cheers and support for their efforts, and saturation bombings carried out till theres no life in the middle east. Can you imagine an evening news WITHOUT a report of another suicide bombing?

Five years later and people still have not figured out that Iraq had nothing to do with terrorist or 9/11! We are fighting the very people , and killing them, that we were so concerned Saddam was doing! We are in the middle of a sectarian Civil War that WE allowed to happen because Bush was too stupid to send the number of troops to quell this "INSURGENCY", not terrorist, to nip it in it's bud!

Bush has lied, and lied, and lied, and many on here still believe him!

Republicans are so concerned about the military that 4 years later they still do not have armored Humvees, and from what is going on now with Walter Reed has a lot to do with the Repubs mandating the outsourcing of services to private firms so they could do less and put money in their grubby little pockets!

Can't wait for them to figure out that Bush cut VA Hospitals in 2006 by $100 BILLION and has cut them again in this years budget, even though they are getting slammed with injured vets. Some 32,000 have been injured in Iraq.

And the kicker is, though Bush cut the VA hospitals twice, he still has another tax cut for the rich in the budget!

And don't anyone try and tell me about Vietnam, even if you were there!

They died coz they are heroes. The American nation and the world at large fail to consider that Islamic militancy is a major threat to all the non Islamic world. These soldiers died to fight the enemy on their ground rather than in NY, London or Madrid.

Yeah, we still lost when the Democratic congress yanked us out and kept us from actually winning, along with Republican morons like Nixon and most especially Macnamara.

Why are we in Iraq? To establish a democracy, secure access to Middle East oil and destabilize the autocracies in the region who have a strangle-hold on the life-blood of our current global civilization.

Nothing terribly important, hunh?

The only connection Iraq has to 9/11 is Saddam's training of terror groups and his support of them, plus some other light connections to Osama bin Ladin - That wasn't the big reason to go in. NO one ever said it was.

Orion

PS: Please stop posting that Jihadi propoganda "It was reported t American Troops didn't have a chance." My fanny. They got unlucky. It happens in combat. It happens OUT of combat. It sucks no matter what. The casualty rate in Iraq is still less than it is in peacetime - and our troopers are doing a great job. No thanks to liberals like you who are doing everything in their power to make our troopers mission fail.

SUPPORT THE TROOPS - LET THEM WIN!

PS: Please stop blathering about Up-Armored Humvees - They're more dangerous than the regular ones. More likely to roll over and such. The thing is a JEEP, not a TANK. Same issue with forcing our troopers to wear 80lbs of body armor - An Infantryman needs to move fast and quiet, not be a walking tank. Ask the troopers how they feel about being forced to wear all that gear. The troops have the gear they need. Listen to THEM - Links attached.

Cowards must die. They went to Iraq with the hope that they would come back with the oil they are fighting for. Yet now they are trying to withdraw as shamelssly as possible.
There is a news which I 'm not sure of . It says that most of the American marines are either homeless or illegal boys

why dont you go join the soldiers, the marines, and the airmen that are over there fighting each and every day for you and your freedom. go see for yourself whats being done and then youll know why american troops are dying. dont try to argue something you know nothing about. you want to know about it, enlist in to the us military and find out for yourself. dont bash the hard work and dedication that I and so many others have put in to the us military. you should be giving thanks to all those who served and will serve. dont ask why theyre dying...you should be grateful

If you really want to know HOW they were killed (I know that you want to know why, but still,) then keep yourself updated by going to www.liveleak.com . It has updated movie clips of what's going on around the globe (Iraq included!).

Because, collectively, the world right now is screwed up, and it has been for centuries.

And for Bigbro3006, ease up. I am proud that you have served, but your comment is an example of why the world is messed up. People being selfish and blind from the other 6 billion in this world.
