I'm an 18 year old guy planning on growing my hair halfway down my face. I used to have soft hair a few years back. Right now I have short hair due to school restrictions. Would my hair get softer as it grows longer? What can I do to aid the growth?

NO HAIR DOES NOT GET SOFTER,when it is longer, as a matter of fact it gets dryer and needs to be trimmed every six weeks to keep it healthy. I have long hair to the middle of back, I keep it up all the time in a clip, all day. When I take clip out and let my hair down, it is so silky soft, because my hair has not being exposed to pollution, dust and what not. I think, men like women letting thier hair down for that reason. Have you ever, heard that saying, baby let your hair down?

I currently have hair that this barely touching my shoulders. My hair is soft and silky but i'd say that the only way you are going to get this result is if you keep your hair healthy, clean, and i wash my hair once everyday. If you have naturally straight hair(like me), And do not straighten it, your hair will most likely be soft. But it most likely depends on your hair and genetics.

Ps. Also Trim just a little bit off your hair to keep the growth process. I razor mine so it looks as if its natural and not the straight edge looking kind of haircut.

Yes it will if it's in your genes and your hair will grow on it's own but vitamins help. Sorry I'm not a guy but I do know a lot about hair.
