Does anyone have any information as to why the check engine light would be on and the diagnostic hookup is saying that the car needs new transmission sensors?
This is for a 1995 Mustang V6 3.8L automatic that I'm looking at buying.

Would it be a simple, easy replacement or could it mean that the transmission is about to go?
It's a daily driver and shifts smoothly.

140k miles

Thanks

Replacing the transmission sensors is just replacing the part that would tell if the transmission is going. Catching early means nothing more. If someone tries to sell you a lot of transmission work get a 2nd or 3rd opinion. Just drive up and tell them you need your transmission sensors checked and probably replaced. Acting like you know what the hell you are talking about is half way home on car repairs.

No it isnt about to go and it is just something they really just set up to go out for you to get your walet out and dish some money because the sinsor is inexpensive should be unless it is an ogb2 sensor which might be around 150 to 300 dollors which pritty much worthless
