I recently shaved my pubes and a red rash appeared in that region. It still isn't gone after a week. Should it be cause for concern and what should I do?

this is commonly referred to as razor burn

Razor burn is caused by hair that is pushed back into the follicle. It can become inflamed and then develop into an ingrown hair.

-use aloe vera gel to soothe the burning sensation
-apply hydrocortisone cream to the affected area to help relieve the burning and itching
-use mild soap when showering (dove or ivory)
-when drying off after showering, blot the rash area dry-don't rub, this will irritate the area worse.

give this about another week to heal itself and try your best not to scratch-there are hidden germs underneath your nails and you are at risk for getting an infection when scratching

How clean was the razor you used? You could have caused an infection. Is it just red, or does it burn, itch, etc.

Use baby powder for razor burns. I use that on my neck.
