Which path would you follow, a life of happiness or a life of meaning?

Meaning. Happiness comes from every meaningful step taken.

Anything without meaning is fleeting at best. Meaning can bring happiness; true meaning certainly brings true happiness.
To have true meaning, but to stop short before the happiness would be pointless, therefore without meaning. It is like having the wheat without the stalk and the roots, you cannot keep that up.
The path of happiness without meaning is extremely short, not even one step in length. The path of meaning without happiness is infinite, and it never gets anywhere or goes to any place of significance. Both are impossible paths to take.

They are not mutually exclusive of each other because what brings meaning to ones life, may also bring happiness through traveling a path of meaning.

Well if I say I prefer happiness then my life would be on a path of meaning.
If I choose meaning then happiness would be the result of that choice.
Happiness is a very relative term. I desire to be content. Which is a state of happiness.

"Meaning" is an illusory concept as it is subjective to ones beliefs and culture. So I would prefer to have a happy life.

When I chose meaning and happiness was added unto me. Would make the same choice all over again. And sometimes I have to.
