There is a tendency of liking and caring for the person you are acquainted with for some times. This guy knows about your ex cause he is also his best friend and he would have an idea about his doings. So never mind about these 2 guys, pull yourself together, ignore these guys and if any of them loves or likes you will come back to you.

i think that in this situation, it could either be that he honestly thinks that his best friend is a jerk, or yes he has feelings for you and just denies it. I am gonna go with the latter part of my answer. I think that he still has a good amount of feelings for you and wants to able to be with you. See what happens but take it slow so he is not like a rebound guy.

This is tricky. It could be one of two things:
1. He wants to control you so he says those things to keep you under his control.
2. He is jealous of his best friend.
You should talk to the best friend about him and see if he said anything. Secondly, it could be a set up by him and your ex.
Be cautious, if he really likes you, then he should be honest and upfront about it. Saying that he doesn't like you anymore should make you move on. There are plenty of guys in the world that cannot wait to date a beautiful woman who is kind and honest.

If he is willing to repeat his statement in front of his friend, then you definately have something going there, if he isnt, then he is probably exercising some "big brother" advice and is trying to save you some grief and wasted time. Chances are, he probably knows what your ex has done that you DO NOT KNOW he has done, which would explain his intrusion into your business.
I would say he is just being a decent guy.

Thats tough, he really is not a true friend if he would date his friend's ex especially right away...... Its kind of a unspoken rule between friend's that you don't date ex's unless they say its alright.
Friends > GF/BF always till you get married then Wife/Husband > Friends.

He sounds like a freak. He doesn't want you but does not want you to have anyone else. He might be trying to keep you on the side in case he can't find anything else. Don't listen to him, move on and good luck.
