Just like you have a photograph-to remind one that here are saints and Mary and Jesus etc. Don't forget the Ark of the Covenant had images on it.

It is ashamed that alot (not all) Catholics have no idea what it means to truly know Jesus. It's not about repeating the same prayer over and over or about your confession. It's about knowing Jesus and knowing he died so you can go to heaven. Saying prayers that come from your heart and not something you memorized is so much more important to the Lord. If any Catholics would just read their bibles they could see for themselves. My heart truly goes out for them because they are so hard to hear anything except what was drilled into them since they where little. All you Christians out there pray for the Catholics!!! As far as the statue thing goes it is idolatry because they pray to them!!!

Probably because it gets the Roman Catholic Church a whole lot of money. The Holy Bible also states quite clearly that we must notmadd any title of Father to anyone on earth; only to the Holy Father in Heaven!

See Exodus 25:15, and etc.; Exodus 38:7; Numbers 21:8-9; 1 Chronicles 28:18-19; 2 Chronicles 3:10.

excerpt: 3:10. He made also in the house of the holy of holies two cherubims of image work: and he overlaid them with gold.
3:11. The wings of the cherubims were extended twenty cubits, so that one wing was five cubits long, and reached to the wall of the house: and the other was also five cubits long, and reached to the wing of the other cherub.
3:12. In like manner the wing of the other cherub, was five cubits long, and reached to the wall: and his other wing was five cubits long, and touched the wing of the other cherub.

Because, like most Big Apes, Catholics can't resist tempting fate. Also, they need a constant reminder of their faith. Jesus, who told anyone who would listen, that the Church of God surrounded them everyday, obviously didn't prepare for Christians and Catholics. I'm sure, were Jesus to be here today, those same Christians and Catholics would scoff and place him in the nearest asylum and continue to wait for the second coming, whilst worshipping craven idols and taking sacrament, without missing a beat.

Satan has blinded their minds.

It's all about money. Paganistic practices were accepted so that they wouldn't lose their members. Just like the pope asked the catholics to do acts of worship to Hitler during WWII. So, he said, so they followed.

The love of money is the root of all sorts of injurious things.

These verses concern the worship of these images. Catholics do not worship the images you see in the church.

People who oppose religious statuary forget about the many passages where the Lord commands the making of statues. For example: "And you shall make two cherubim of gold [i.e., two gold statues of angels]; of hammered work shall you make them, on the two ends of the mercy seat. Make one cherub on the one end, and one cherub on the other end; of one piece of the mercy seat shall you make the cherubim on its two ends. The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be" (Ex. 25:18–20).

David gave Solomon the plan "for the altar of incense made of refined gold, and its weight; also his plan for the golden chariot of the cherubim that spread their wings and covered the ark of the covenant of the Lord. All this he made clear by the writing of the hand of the Lord concerning it all, all the work to be done according to the plan" (1 Chr. 28:18–19). David’s plan for the temple, which the biblical author tells us was "by the writing of the hand of the Lord concerning it all," included statues of angels.

Similarly Ezekiel 41:17–18 describes graven (carved) images in the idealized temple he was shown in a vision, for he writes, "On the walls round about in the inner room and [on] the nave were carved likenesses of cherubim."

May God bless you

Graven images help them beleive in their God, and, their God did not give them the 10 Commandments.
