There are so many other translations and resources available for study I seriously doubt it would matter to most Christians.

Well, I use the Geneva Bible which pre-dates the KJV.
The only reason for the KJV was the King was a totally perverted homosexual and wanted to be rid of the Bible that condemned it in the strongest words, there by the King James Version. He banned the Geneva Bible and killed or jailed anyone caught with it

When did we loose the original King James (Authorized) Version 1611?
KJV or AV is now the most popular English (Jacobean English) bible for four hundred years. What makes you think we have lost anything. And if you think we have, www.scripture4all.org to see the Interlinear Hebrew and Greek text.

The KJV is not an original. It is a translation that was authorized by the Anglican Church. It is widely recognized by most Christians in almost all denominations.

yawn - the 66 books of the Bible were decided in AD 330
by the Council of Nicea - anything else gets tossed - end of story
My KJV is tossed already - I prefer the New American Standard
or the Revised Standard Version - since everything other than the Hebrew and Greek are translations.

The origianl KJV included the Apocrypha. It's not a big surprise, after all,the Catholic Bibles include those books.
There are no 'lost books' of the Bible either.

Such versions (which did exist) would not be the "authorized" version that James put his stamp of approval on. My reaction would be: Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.

My reaction would be "Wow...another bible I won't be reading". Churches would just keep on keeping on. Most pick & choose what they want to believe anyhow. Another version would just mean more to choose from and more to ignore.
